The Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Portland Trail Blazers on the 7th, and superstar Luka Doncic poured in 53 points, not only leading the Lakers to a 124-118 win but also rewriting multiple historical records for career cumulative stats and total scoring to open a season. Watching Doncic put up an epic performance in the purple and gold, US media once again pulled no punches in taking a swipe at his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, saying the Mavericks' trade back then was simply "the worst decision in human history."

Doncic was scorching hot in this one, playing 38 minutes and going 17-of-33 from the field, efficiently pouring in 53 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. Before halftime, Doncic drained a deep three that set the whole arena ablaze, and the shot instantly went viral on social media. In the final stretch, he hit a difficult floater to push his scoring past 50, helping the Lakers lock in a 6-point lead and seal the win.

According to statistics, Doncic has accumulated a staggering 361 points through his first 9 games this season, officially surpassing the 347-point league record set by "Basketball God" Michael Jordan in the 1986-87 season and rising to No. 1 in NBA history. In addition, this was the 62nd time in Doncic's career he has posted at least 40 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in a single game, surpassing former teammate LeBron James' 61 and moving up to 4th on the NBA's all-time list.

Doncic's recent sensational play once again stunned the world, and sports reporter Brett Siegel couldn't help but post after the game: "The Mavericks made the worst trade in human history."

Lakers guard Austin Reaves, speaking after the game about Doncic's hot streak, also admitted the whole team was stunned by his scoring ability: "You just can't find the right words to describe him. Everyone knows he's one of the best offensive players in basketball history, but what he's doing right now is just crazy. You look up and he's already got 40, but it feels like he's only got 25. It seems to have become routine, but this is not normal at all."
